A Listing of our Sires and their Pedigrees

Mytty In Focus was our pick of the 2002 Midland Bull Test Sale. He was one of very few bulls that was above average for performance, scrotal, EPD’s as well as scanning very well for both Ribeye and IMF. At the time he was a very complete bull with a moderate frame, great disposition and out of a great cow.
One half interest of In Focus was sold to Black Pine Farm shortly after we had bought him. We brought him home and used him artificially and also as a clean-up bull on heifers for 2 years. He proved himself to be a great breeding bull.

As the performance and ultrasound numbers came back on In Focus’s first calf crop, there was a lot of interest in him. Through much contemplation we, (Kevin Mytty and Bill & Debbie Jensen and ourselves) decided to go with an offer that ABS Global, Inc. had given us. I guess you can say the rest is history. In Focus has blown away our expectations and has become the #1 bull in the Angus breed for registrations in 2008 and 2009. We are truly blessed to be able to own him.

Chinook, born and raised at Shipwheel, was a top selling bull for us in 2008 to the Spickler Ranch in Glenfield N.D. He is extremely attractive, expressively muscled, and clean fronted, all in a moderate frame. He posts very impressive EPD’s, as he ranks in the top 1% of the breed for WW and YW, as well as being in the top 3% for Milk, and the top 5% for BW, while have very well balanced carcass numbers. Chinook stems from a very productive light birth line of cows that are the most influent in our herd. His dam posts a BR 3/91 WR 3/105 YR 2/106 IMF 2/108 REA 2/104, 2^nd Dam BR 4/96 WR 4/94 YR 1/101 IMF 1/113 REA 1/104, and 3^rd Dam BR 15/89 WR 15/100 YR 12/99 IMF 8/109 REA 8/99. We look for Chinook to offer an exciting new line of calving ease bulls, with style, muscle, and performance.

053 was the highest ratioing calf of In Focus’s first calf crop. He has been used extensively in the West Fork and Apex Angus herds. He has proven himself as a great breeding bull. He has a lot of the same great characteristics of his sire, In Focus-excellent disposition, large scrotal, moderate mature size, excellent females and has picture perfect feet at 6 years of age.

Packer was used for his outcross pedigree and very balanced EPD profile which continues to improve. Packer has an excellent disposition which he seems to be passing on.

M89 was a bull raised here at Shipwheel by a very productive Dr. Jellum cow. He is one of the best bulls we have had the opportunity to be around as a calf. He possesses excellent shape, muscling, scrotal, feet, legs and disposition. His first set of calves are very impressive. His Dam posts a BR 4/110 WR 4/111 YR 3/106 IMF 2/106 REA 2/102

1655 was a top selling bull for us in 2006 to Chad Comes, Atlantic, Iowa. We have flushed pathfinder Dam and Grand-Dam several times. 1655 sons have impressive thickness and eye appeal. They will leave some impressive females. 1655 stems from the same cow family as "Chinook."

Image Maker was used for his outcross pedigree. He is known for his growth and female making ability. He was used primarily on our In Focus daughters with great success.

Thunder shows wide muscle pattern and huge body capacity combined with phenotypic and genotypic balance.

The Schurrtop 2004 top selling, top gaining and top ultra-sound bull. His dam is a Schurrtop Supreme daughter that is moderate, super long and clean made with a perfect udder.

Traces back 26 times to Rito 707. Rapid early growth, sensible maturity, balanced maternal and fertility.

690 was one of our picks at the 2009 Fall Sitz Angus Sale. He was one of the top bulls, selling for $11,000. 690 was a standout with his wide base, big scrotal, thick top, tremendous depth of rib, outstanding feet and legs and great disposition. We look to use 690 heavily in 2010. He is the complete package - performance, maternal, longevity. His pedigree is loaded with some of the breeds greatest.

764 was one of our picks at the 2009 Fall Sitz Angus Sale. He is a natural calf raised by one of Bob Sitz's favorite donor cows, Sitz Blackbird 1900. We have high hopes of 764 leaving us some awesome females. He will be used heavily in the spring.
